Ferris Projects

This page is a collection of the projects I have completed as I’m working toward my Bachelor's in Manufacturing Engineering. Some projects will be CAD and some may be manufactured. None of these projects are for sale as they are created with school property, Enjoy.

bolt action Pen Project

This project was to create a functional three-piece assembly. I decided to make a bolt-action pen. It is made of four pieces machined out of aluminum and uses store-bought ink cartridges.

Circular Vise

This project was assigned to learn how to design and create a jig or fixture. I decided to develop a vise to work with .5-2” round stock. It was fully machined out of steel besides the brass handles. It was also designed to be compatible with the slots on the mills at Ferris.

End of arm tooling

This project was solely CAD-based. The project was to create a mounting plate for end-of-arm tooling on a Fanuc robot. I decided to create a modular system. It was designed to utilize an SMC pneumatic gripper and custom jaws to pick up a 1” diameter cylinder.
